Plex Implements Netskope for Enhanced Cloud App Security

By CIOReview Team

Netskope, the cloud based security service provider recently announced the adoption of their solution by Plex, a technology startup, to monitor and reduce risk for its growing cloud app ecosystem. The factors that led Plex to chose Netskope was data loss prevention and introspection features. "Netskope helps us safely operate a number of critical cloud business services while reducing the chances of exposing our business unnecessarily," says Scott Olechowski, Chief Product Officer and co-founder of Plex. "It was important for us to find a solution that provided robust DLP capabilities and the ability to do granular policy enforcement across the broad set of apps that we use — Netskope stood out as a leader in these areas." With Netskope, business firms are able to achieve enhanced visibility into data movement inside and outside of cloud apps, chalk out risk and set security policies. During the Netskope proof-of-concept, Plex used the Netskope introspection and data loss prevention capabilities within their Google Apps for Work environment. This meant that data already residing in Google Drive could be inspected for intellectual property and other sensitive files. Plex also put the Netskope Active Platform in place to stop out-of-policy downloads of source code from GitHub in real-time. "Plex is a fast-growing company with an increasingly global presence that requires the ability to proactively monitor cloud app usage trends," says Sanjay Beri, Chief Executive Officer and Founder for Netskope. "When you've got globally distributed teams and your business is frequently originating and sharing proprietary data through cloud apps, being out in front from a security point of view is absolutely critical."
